My name is Jim Woods and I’m available for hire.
If you are aware of an opportunity and share it with me, that would be awesome. In fact, it would be so awesome that my awesomeness would actually rub off on you a little bit, as the beneficiaries of my productivity would thank you profusely for facilitating that hiring.
“An opportunity to do what?” you ask. Good question.
It is difficult to explain what I do. People describe themselves by their specialty, but my specialty is that I am a generalist. Some describe such expertise as a jack-of-all-trades, and derided it as the master of none; however, I quickly become a subject matter expert in whatever field I enter upon.
I am an integrator of organizations, procedures, policies, and technology with start up and revitalization experience in both a large corporate environment and evolving new ventures. I have experience in project management, operations, finance, accounting, marketing, IT, consulting, legal process, and regulatory compliance.
Succinctly, I convert business ideas and opportunities into actual functioning systems that produce value at lower operating costs.
If you know of a business which has problems and needs an individual to take ownership of the solutions, then that is the mutual opportunity that I seek.
Subsequent entries to this blog will give concrete examples of who I am, what I have done, and things that we could do. While I have some specific short term objectives, this is a long term and on-going offer on my part.
Why this medium? I could say that “blogging” was an item in a “Top 10 Job Hunting Tips” list that I was drafting; however, I could have been inspired by the following video:
